The BrickCan LEGO Exhibition is BC’s biggest LEGO event. It takes place at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond in April.
In 2024 the BrickCan LEGO Exhibition happened on April 20th and 21st. That was the same weekend as Food Truck Wars in Langley, the Trail of Coffee in North Vancouver, and Earth Day events at lots of places including the Vancouver Maritime Museum. During the month of April, there are also a number of events at Pacific Arts Market on West Broadway in Vancouver (including Comedy Night and the Beautiful BC Art Fair), plus major events like the Vancouver Sun Run and Surrey Vaisakhi Parade.
Note: Another fun place for the whole family this time of year is the Royal Canadian International Circus. It was in Surrey from May 2nd to 12th, and then in Richmond from May 16th to 20th. The shows are entertaining and affordable!

BrickCan LEGO Exhibition in Richmond
Hundreds of LEGO aficionados from all over the world are at the BrickCan LEGO event showcasing their creative designs. They are also on hand to engage with the public and fellow AFOLs about their works of art. At the event there are usually a few LEGO models never before seen.
The exhibition part of the event is a two-day affair. It’s a delight for fans of all ages who wander the exhibition hall marveling the creative displays of LEGO models. Running concurrent to the exhibition is the BrickCan Adult LEGO Fan Convention, considered Canada’s largest such convention and launched by Adult Fans of LEGO (or AFOLs as they are affectionately known).
The public attending the two-day non-AFOL exhibition part of the event on the Saturday and Sunday can have fun building their own LEGO designs, learning from the LEGO masters themselves and shopping with vendors.
The public exhibition on the weekend is a great event. It’s popular with young families and their children, but also for adults. It’s amazing how popular LEGO is with adults. You must admit, though, LEGO is pretty cool and awesome, and it’s amazing what these LEGO artists can build! If you’ve never been to this event, and you like LEGO, you should go!

LEGO Event Location
The BrickCan LEGO event takes place at the River Rock Casino at 8811 River Road in the north part of Richmond, just south of the Fraser River from the City of Vancouver.
For those not familiar with the location, it’s right on the SkyTrain rapid transit line and not far from the Vancouver International Airport. The casino is just a two-minute drive from where the Richmond Night Market takes place in the summer and about 3.5 kilometres from the McArthurGlen Outlet Mall.
If travelling by car, there is lots of parking in the parkade next to the casino. If travelling by public transit, Bridgeport Station is conveniently just steps from the resort.
The River Rock Casino is a hotel and casino. It has slot machines and games like Blackjack and Roulette. There are also restaurants, and a theatre where shows and concerts sometimes take place. The BrickCan LEGO Exhibition happens in the theatre, but with all the theatre seating removed from the room.
Note: Strollers and wagons aren’t permitted in the exhibit hall because of space constraints. Wheelchairs, however, are allowed.
