New Year’s Eve Events
- Vancouver NYE Boat Parties – nightclub-style cruises takes place in and around the waters of downtown Vancouver.
- NYE Eve Bash Tribute Concerts – New Year’s Eve parties with Take it to the Limit and Blue Bayou in Coquitlam and The Atari Radio Starz in Richmond.

- FREE Public Transit – from 5 pm until 5 am (because it’s New Year’s Eve).
- Fireworks at Cypress Mountain – New Year’s Eve activities happen at the ski hill for folks with ski tickets. (Note: There were going to be fireworks tonight, the same as in past years, but they have since been cancelled.)
- Fireworks at Grouse Mountain – fireworks and other family-friendly activities take place at the top of Grouse in the evening.
- The Improv Centre – live comedy theatre at Granville Island. Tonight features NYE at TIC with shows at 7:00, 9:00 and 11:15 pm.

- New West Santa Claus Parade – a family-friendly event along New Westminster’s Columbia Street. (Likely not happening in 2023.)
- Vancouver Santa Claus Parade – along Georgia Street and then down Howe Street. Pre-parade activities for families take place in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery. (Not happening in 2023.)
Christmas Events
- Carol Ships Shoreline Celebration – a community bonfire, live entertainment, craft-making opportunities and boats with Christmas lights out on the water in North Vancouver’s Deep Cove. (TBC)
- Bright Walk in White Rock – a community event that features a Christmas artisan market, entertainment, treats for kids and family-friendly activities in White Rock. (On December 2, 2023, but then with the lights and decoration continuing until January 7, 2024.)
- Humbug Holidays at Fort Langley – Christmas craft activities take place at the national historic site in Langley. (TBC)
- Light Up Bowen Lantern Festival – a community event featuring a small parade, caroling, a nativity play and Santa Claus on Bowen Island. (TBC)
- Lumagica Surrey – a new Christmas-themed event with illuminations and other things to see at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. (Not likely happening in 2023.)
- Santa Shuffle – a 5K Fun Run and 1K Elf Walk at Stanley Park benefiting the Salvation Army. (December 2, 2023)
- Colombian Dia de las Velitas Fiesta – a free event with live music, kid-friendly activities and food for purchase. (TBC)

- Chanukah Market – a market celebrating the Jewish Festival of Lights happens at the Jewish Community Centre. (On various weekdays in the first half of December.)
- Coquitlam Christmas Craft Fair – a large indoor holiday artisan market at the Poirier Forum. (December 1 to 3, 2023)
- Christmas in the Village – an indoor artisan market with a Charles Dickens’ Christmas Carol theme at the Community Hall at 9167 Glover Road in Fort Langley. (December 15-17, 2023)
- Make It Craft Show – a craft event with over 170 vendors at the PNE at 2901 East Hastings Street. (December 7 to 10, 2023)
- Toque Craft Fair – a small artisan market with around 20 vendors at 303 East 8th Avenue in Vancouver. Admission is by donation. (December 1 to 3, 2023)
- Weirdos Holiday Market – a Christmas artisan market featuring alternative vendors selling unique and alternative kinds of things. (December 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 in 2023.)

- Vancouver Oratorio Choir Concerts – the choir performs at the Evangelical Chinese Bible Church in Burnaby (on December 1 in 2024). They also have a mini concert at Vancouver’s Finnish Bethel Church (with its date to be determined.)
- Sweet Soul Gospel Celebration – a Christmas concert with the VOC Sweet Soul Gospel Choir in North Vancouver. (December 16, 2023)

- False Creek NYE Fireworks – pyrotechnic displays and other New Year’s celebrations were going to happen in False Creek. (Cancelled for 2023)
- Skating at the Shipyards – ice skating at Shipyard Commons in North Vancouver. (From December 1 until late March 2024.)
- Vancouver Giants Hockey – against various teams at the Langley Events Centre.
- Vancouver Canucks Hockey – professional ice hockey against various teams at Rogers Arena.
- Winter Discovery Days – family-friendly fun at the Fraser River Discovery Centre. The activities run from December 23rd in 2023 until January 7th of next year.
- Seniors Day at MOV – admission to the Museum of Vancouver is just $5 for anyone age 65+ on the first Tuesday of the month. (TBC)
- Music at Robson Square – in addition to the free ice skating at Robson Square, there’s live music on specific dates in December. (TBC)
- First Night at Mt. Seymour – evening laser tobogganing, fireworks and live entertainment at the North Vancouver ski hill. (TBC)

- Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story – a high energy musical about refugees, love and finding shared humanity. Presented by SFU Woodward’s, it takes place at the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts in downtown Vancouver. (TBC, but likely not happening in 2023.)
