Typical June Weather

Summer finally arrives in Vancouver in June, even though the weather is probably just as good or even better in May.

As Vancouver is pretty far north (if you come from anywhere other than Canada), the days are fabulously long, with the sun not setting until after 9 pm. Average June high temperatures are a balmy 19 degrees C (or 66 F), and the lows are close to 11 C (or 52 F).

Statistics suggest it usually only rains about 45 mm (or less than 2 inches) in the month, but many years it feels like way more. Although June’s weather can be a bit unpredictable, it’s still more often than not a fine month to be in Vancouver.

Recommended June Activities

Being a summer month, June is definitely a month to be outside (except on the rainy days). With the ski season long past and forgotten, Vancouverites focus their attention solidly on outdoor summertime activities.

Popular June activities include hiking and camping in the region’s various parks, canoeing and kayaking in places like Deep Cove, picnics throughout the region, and hanging out at beaches like English Bay, Kitsilano, Jericho, Spanish Banks, Stanley Park (Second and Third Beaches) and Ambleside (in West Vancouver).

Being the last month of the year before schools let out, Vancouver really starts to come alive in June. The region’s night markets are in full swing and all sorts of live entertainment and other events start springing up everywhere (or at least in lots of places).

For more ideas on where to go and what to do, check out Vancouver’s Best Summer Activities.
